Many facets of DECOR Wall Design. WALLSCAPING

In the conventional approach to designing an interior space, walls are often treated as a passive element - a negative space for hanging art or picture frames, placing furniture or maybe installing wallpaper.

We believe that walls can play a much bigger role as active elements of interior design. Thinking about them as such offers interesting design options for creating comfortable, well-balanced and interesting homes.

What can transform walls into active elements of interior design? Creative use of colour is the answer!

Using colour creatively can be a simple yet very effective method to address common decorating & design challenges such as

  • double height or slanted ceilings,

  • oddly shaped rooms,

  • small or very large spaces,

  • bulkheads,

  • nooks,

  • half walls,

  • awkwardly placed fireplaces,

  • small windows, etc.

WALLSCAPING can be a creative and affordable way to achieve the following

  • create or enhance zoning in open floor spaces,

  • establish or enhance a focal point in a room,

  • harmonize proportions of the space,

  • create or enhance symmetry and balance between architecture, furnishings, accessories and art

  • create a unique look and feel in a space

Interestingly, the term WALLSCAPING was suggested by one of our clients. She responded positively to our wall design concept for her open floor living room/seating area and suggested that we use this term in describing our service. Here’s what her project was about…
